Part of a three-part sconce series that explores repeatable wiring systems, providing room for exploration with material pairings and light quality. The Black Currant Sconce brings together flax paper pulp sheet and pine tar, materials I have been building a familiar connection to through caring for their growth and harvesting locally in Rhode Island. Bronze pull tabs are embossed with the materials involved in the construction, giving an introduction to the mapping of material sourcing and interaction.
